Bloody Sunset
The sun bows her head in defeat
And surrenders herself to the night,
She knew that she couldn't win
But she couldn't let go of the light.
So she fought til she started to bleed
And it was a bittersweet sight
To see her descend with such glory
An honourable end to the fight.
She knows she must retreat now
Though sorry she coudn't stay
She leaves us instilled with the promise
To return with the dawning of day.
And surrenders herself to the night,
She knew that she couldn't win
But she couldn't let go of the light.
So she fought til she started to bleed
And it was a bittersweet sight
To see her descend with such glory
An honourable end to the fight.
She knows she must retreat now
Though sorry she coudn't stay
She leaves us instilled with the promise
To return with the dawning of day.
